Brandeis cross country continued its strong season this past Saturday at the Keene State Invitational hosted by the meet’s namesake college in Keene, New Hampshire. The Brandeis teams flexed their muscles on both sides, taking home multiple victories and adding shiny new PRs to TFRRS.

In the Women’s Championship 5k, the Judges proved to be the class of the field and won the race with only 40 points!

  • Senior Bridget Pickard led the scoring by placing 2nd in a new PR of 18:31

  • Juliette Intrieri and Lizzy Reynolds finished together in 4th and 5th. Lizzy improved 33 seconds from her time at UMass Dartmouth two weeks ago

  • Katie Lyon rounded out the scoring and improved 24 seconds from her time at UMass Dartmouth

There was more success to be had in the Men’s Championship 8k. The Judges finished 3rd with 88

points.

  • Senior Matthew Driben continued his winning ways, taking home his second victory of the season and clocking in at 24:53 (4:58 mile pace). The time marks a 46 second PR!

  • Lucas Dia finished 12th in a time of 26:19. That is a 54 second improvement from his run at UMass Dartmouth

Last weekend’s invitational caps a strong training block and prepares the Judges to perform well in the most exciting races of the fall. Their next battle comes at the competitive Connecticut College Invite on October 15th. The Judges will hope to notch some key victories there in the run up to Regional Championships in November.
